Luke 12:30
“For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things.”
What does Luke 12:30 mean?
Jesus is reminding us that worrying obsessively about food, clothing, and shelter is what people do when they've forgotten they have a loving Father. He's not saying our needs don't matter, but rather that anxiety and endless striving for more are signs we're living as if we're alone in the world. When we trust that God sees us and cares about our wellbeing, we can step off the exhausting treadmill of constant worry. This doesn't mean sitting passively, but rather working and planning from a place of peace rather than fear.
