Luke 12:29
“Don’t seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious.”
What does Luke 12:29 mean?
Jesus isn't telling us to ignore real hunger or neglect our bodies. Instead, he's addressing the anxious mental loop that keeps us obsessing over survival, checking our bank accounts repeatedly, or lying awake worrying we won't have enough. When worry becomes our main focus, it actually crowds out trust and keeps us from noticing what's already being provided or what we're called to do today. The invitation here is to shift where we place our attention. If you can feed yourself today, you're invited to trust that tomorrow will be met the same way, rather than draining yourself with endless "what ifs." This doesn't mean being careless, but it does mean stepping off the hamster wheel of fear long enough to breathe, rest, and believe that your life matters for more than just survival.
