“Every meal offering that is baked in the oven, and all that is dressed in the pan, and on the griddle, shall be the priest’s who offers it.”
What does Leviticus 7:9 mean?
In the system of Old Testament offerings, the priests depended entirely on what people brought to the temple for their survival, since they had no other income or land. This verse clarifies that when someone prepared a grain offering (a common gift of flour, oil, and frankincense), the priest who conducted the ceremony received it as payment for his work and support for his family.
