What does Leviticus 7:3 mean?
In the sacrificial system described here, the person making an offering of gratitude or thanksgiving was instructed to give God the best and richest parts of the animal, not just the leftovers. The fat was considered the most valuable portion, partly because it was prized as food in that culture and partly because it symbolized offering something genuinely costly and precious. By surrendering these choice parts to God, the worshipper was expressing that their gratitude wasn't casual or half-hearted, but genuinely substantial. This reflects a timeless principle about worship: when we honor God, we do it with intention and sacrifice, not with whatever scraps are convenient.
