Leviticus 4:25
“The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering. He shall pour out the rest of its blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering.”
What does Leviticus 4:25 mean?
When someone brought a sin offering to the ancient tabernacle, this ritual acknowledged that something had gone wrong and needed to be made right. The priest's careful actions, touching the horns (corners) of the altar and pouring blood at its base, symbolized both the seriousness of sin and God's willingness to deal with it through a prescribed way.
