Leviticus 18:27
“(for the men of the land that were before you had done all these abominations, and the land became defiled);”
What does Leviticus 18:27 mean?
The land itself was considered unclean because of the practices that had happened there. When God's people entered Canaan, they were inheriting a place where deeply harmful behaviors had become normalized, and those actions left a kind of spiritual stain on the territory itself. This verse reminds us that sin has real consequences that ripple through communities and even affect the places where we live.
