Leviticus 11:45
“For I am Yahweh who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.”
What does Leviticus 11:45 mean?
God reminds the Israelites that he didn't rescue them from Egypt just to leave them as they were, but to draw them into relationship with him and to shape them into a holy people. Being holy doesn't mean being perfect or earning his favor, but rather being set apart, dedicated to him, and increasingly reflecting his character in how you live. When God says "I am holy," he's describing his wholeness, purity, and complete otherness from anything corrupted or broken. The invitation here is deeply personal: because you belong to God and he has already proven his faithfulness to you, let that transform how you live, moment by moment.
