What does Judges 9:16 mean?
Jotham, the surviving son of Gideon (also called Jerubbaal), is calling out the people of Shechem for their betrayal. He's asking them to examine whether their choice to crown Abimelech was truly just, or whether they've actually been unfaithful to Gideon's memory and legacy.
