Judges 8:7
“Gideon said, “Therefore when Yahweh has delivered Zebah and Zalmunna into my hand, then I will tear your flesh with the thorns of the wilderness and with briers.””
What does Judges 8:7 mean?
Gideon is making a fierce promise to the people of Succoth, who have refused to feed his exhausted army while he's pursuing enemy kings. He's saying that once he wins this battle (which he's confident God will grant him), he'll return and punish them harshly for their lack of help. It's a raw moment showing Gideon's anger at being abandoned when his soldiers needed support, though the vow itself is pretty brutal by today's standards.
