What does Judges 6:3 mean?
When the Israelites planted their crops, enemies from the east would sweep in and destroy everything they'd worked to grow, leaving them hungry and afraid. This happened year after year, which is why the people felt so trapped and desperate by the time God called Gideon to lead them. The pattern shows how sin and disobedience had weakened Israel's defenses and relationship with God, leaving them vulnerable to the nations around them. Sometimes we too find ourselves in cycles that feel impossible to break on our own, and that's often when we're most ready to turn back to God and ask for help.
