What does Judges 1:32 mean?

The tribe of Asher was supposed to take full possession of their territory, but instead they settled alongside the Canaanites already living there rather than completing the conquest. This wasn't a peaceful coexistence born of wisdom, but a failure to finish what God had called them to do. Over time, compromises like this one would weaken Israel's spiritual identity as the surrounding cultures' practices gradually influenced them. It's a quiet reminder that unfinished obedience often leads somewhere we didn't intend to go.
