What does Joshua 2:24 mean?
The two spies have just returned from scouting Jericho, and they're reporting back with genuine confidence. They're not just saying the military looks weak or the walls seem climbable, they're saying something deeper: God has already handed them this victory. Their enemies are terrified and losing their resolve, which the spies interpret as a sign that God is actively working on their behalf. This encouragement arrives at a crucial moment, right when Joshua and the people need it most. They're about to attempt something that seems impossible by any normal military standard, and these spies are saying, "We've seen it with our own eyes, we've talked to the people there, and I can tell you that God is already ahead of us."
