What does Joshua 14:8 mean?
Caleb is looking back on a pivotal moment forty years earlier, when the Israelites first approached the promised land. He and others were sent to scout it out, and while most came back terrified by the giants living there, Caleb trusted that God could deliver on his promises regardless of the obstacles. His courage stood in sharp contrast to the fear that spread through the camp like wildfire, causing the whole community to lose heart and turn away from entering the land. Sometimes obedience to God means standing alone, trusting when others doubt, and staying faithful when everyone else is backing down.
