John 9:4
“I must work the works of him who sent me, while it is day. The night is coming, when no one can work.”
What does John 9:4 mean?
Jesus speaks here about urgency and purpose, knowing his time on earth is limited. He's saying that while he still has the opportunity to do God's healing and teaching work, he needs to get it done, because eventually darkness will come (and indeed, his crucifixion was approaching). There's a gentle reminder in this for us too: our days are numbered, and the things that matter most—helping others, growing spiritually, sharing love—need our attention now, not indefinitely postponed. It's not meant to create panic, but rather to help us focus on what's truly important while we have the chance.
