What does John 8:6 mean?
The religious leaders bring a woman caught in adultery to Jesus, hoping to trap him. Jewish law said she should be stoned, but they want to see whether Jesus will either contradict that law or approve a harsh punishment they can use against him later. Instead of answering their trap directly, Jesus does something unexpected: he bends down and writes in the dust on the ground.
