What does John 8:26 mean?
Jesus is saying he could speak much more about the spiritual condition of those around him, but he's choosing restraint. Instead of delivering judgment in his own voice, he points to God the Father as his source and foundation, emphasizing that his words carry the weight of divine truth. He's essentially saying: "I'm not speaking from my own opinions or authority, but faithfully reporting what God has shown me." This reassures us that when Jesus teaches hard truths, they come from a place of perfect wisdom and love, not from condemnation for its own sake.
