“Didn’t Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill me?””
What does John 7:19 mean?
Jesus is pointing out a painful contradiction in his accusers: they claim to honor Moses and follow the law, yet they're breaking one of its most fundamental commands by plotting to murder him. He's not saying the law itself is bad, but rather exposing how people can become so focused on their own religious authority and reputation that they ignore the very principles they claim to uphold.
