John 6:65
“He said, “For this cause I have said to you that no one can come to me, unless it is given to him by my Father.””
What does John 6:65 mean?
Jesus is saying here that coming to him isn't something we accomplish through sheer willpower or intellect alone. It requires something that comes from God the Father, a kind of openness or drawing that makes faith possible. This can feel unsettling if you're worried you're not good enough or strong enough to believe, but Jesus is actually pointing to grace, not human failure. He's saying that the ability to trust him, to turn toward him, is fundamentally a gift rather than something you have to earn or muster up on your own.
