What does John 6:12 mean?

After feeding five thousand people with just a few loaves and fish, Jesus instructed his disciples to collect the leftovers. This simple directive reveals something important about his character: he values what others might discard and wastes nothing, even in abundance. It's a gentle reminder that generosity and care for resources aren't opposed to each other, and that being thoughtful stewards matters. For many of us in seasons of scarcity or loss, there's also quiet comfort here in knowing that Jesus notices what we have, sees its worth, and doesn't let anything precious go to waste.
