What does John 5:41 mean?
Jesus is saying he doesn't need or seek out human praise and approval. He wasn't working to build a reputation or earn popularity, even though he had the power to do so. This mattered deeply in his conversation with religious leaders who cared greatly about being honored by others, and it shows us that Jesus operated from a different source of validation entirely. When we're struggling with the need for others' approval, this reminds us that true worth doesn't come from human recognition.
