John 4:32
“But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you don’t know about.””
What does John 4:32 mean?
Jesus has just had a deep conversation with a Samaritan woman at a well, and his disciples return wondering why he's talking to someone considered an outsider. When they urge him to eat, he responds with this puzzling statement. He's not speaking literally about hidden food, but about the spiritual nourishment that comes from doing God's work and connecting with people in need. There's real sustenance in obedience and in witnessing someone's life change through an encounter with God. For those of us going through difficult seasons, this reminds us that some of the deepest fulfillment comes not from what we consume or accumulate, but from meaningful service and spiritual alignment, even when the world around us doesn't understand what we're talking about.
