John 4:16
“Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.””
What does John 4:16 mean?
Jesus says this to the Samaritan woman at the well, and it's a turning point in their conversation. He's not being harsh, but rather gently inviting her to face something true about herself before they can go deeper. She's been deflecting, and Jesus meets her with kindness that also includes honesty. When she admits she has no husband, Jesus affirms what she's said while revealing he already knew her whole story, including the complexity of her relationships. In that moment, she realizes she's standing before someone who sees her completely, without judgment, which opens her heart to recognize who he truly is.
