What does John 3:30 mean?

John the Baptist said these words while his ministry was at its peak, yet he was genuinely rejoicing that Jesus was gaining followers. He understood something profound: his role was to point people toward Jesus, not to build his own reputation or following. There's a beautiful humility here, a recognition that the more we step aside and let Jesus become central in our lives, the more we actually fulfill our deepest purpose. For anyone wrestling with ego, ambition, or the need to be noticed, this verse invites us into the freedom of letting something greater than ourselves take the lead.
