What does John 21:20 mean?
Peter has just been given his calling by Jesus—to feed his sheep and follow him—when he immediately turns to check out what's happening with John, the disciple closest to Jesus. John had been the one brave enough to stay near the cross and the one who first recognized the risen Jesus by the lakeside. There's a very human moment here: Peter is curious, maybe even a little concerned, about what Jesus has planned for someone else.
