What does John 20:24 mean?
Thomas missed the moment when Jesus appeared to the disciples after his resurrection, and it set up one of the most human responses in all of Scripture. He wasn't there to see what the others had witnessed, so when they told him Jesus was alive, he couldn't just take their word for it—he needed proof himself. That's not weakness or sin; it's the honest struggle of someone facing something almost impossible to believe. Many of us know that feeling of being on the outside of something, or of wrestling with what others seem certain about. This verse reminds us that doubt and absence are part of the real story, not obstacles to faith that need to be erased from the narrative.
