John 2:7
“Jesus said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.” They filled them up to the brim.”
What does John 2:7 mean?
At the wedding in Cana, Jesus had just been told the wine had run out, and he was about to perform his first miracle. His simple instruction here shows something important: the servants had to do their part first. They couldn't stand around waiting for magic to happen; they had to fill those pots completely with plain water, following his direction exactly. When they obeyed this ordinary, even mundane task, they became part of something extraordinary. It's a gentle reminder that faith often involves our willingness to take practical steps even when we don't yet see how things will turn out.
