John 16:9
“about sin, because they don’t believe in me;”
What does John 16:9 mean?
In this verse, Jesus is explaining why the Holy Spirit will convict the world of sin. The deepest sin, in Jesus's view, isn't primarily about breaking rules or harming others, but about rejecting him and refusing to trust in who he is. He's saying that the root issue separating people from God is this fundamental unbelief, this turning away from him. When we understand Jesus as God's answer to our deepest needs, rejecting that offer becomes the central problem that needs addressing.
