What does John 15:8 mean?

When Jesus talks about bearing much fruit, he's speaking about the natural overflow of a life genuinely connected to him, like branches drawing life from a vine. The "fruit" means the things that flow from that relationship: love, kindness, patience, growth, and the way your life influences others for good. What honors God (his Father) isn't performance or perfection, but the authentic fruitfulness that happens when you're truly his disciple, living out what you're learning from him. Being his follower, then, isn't about checking boxes or looking the part—it's about gradually becoming someone whose life naturally produces something real and nourishing for others.
