John 14:19
“Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more; but you will see me. Because I live, you will live also.”
What does John 14:19 mean?
Jesus is preparing his followers for something that will feel like abandonment. He's about to die, and the world at large won't perceive his presence anymore, but his disciples will come to know him in a deeper, spiritual way after his resurrection. The promise here is staggering: his life isn't ending but transforming, and because he conquered death, his followers receive that same victory over death for themselves. He's essentially saying that connection to him isn't dependent on physical proximity, and that relationship with him becomes the foundation of our own life, both now and eternally.
