What does John 13:28 mean?
The disciples had just witnessed Jesus dip bread and hand it to Judas, then tell him to do quickly what he was going to do. But they didn't understand what Jesus meant, so they sat there in confusion, unsure whether he was sending Judas on an errand or speaking about something darker. In that moment, none of them grasped that Jesus was essentially saying goodbye to the one who would betray him, or that the end was beginning. This small detail reminds us how even those closest to Jesus sometimes missed what was happening right in front of them, especially when facing something they didn't want to see.
