John 12:17
βThe multitude therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb, and raised him from the dead, was testifying about it.β
What does John 12:17 mean?
When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, it wasn't a private miracle. A whole crowd of people witnessed this extraordinary event, and they couldn't help but talk about it. These witnesses became living proof that something impossible had just happened in their presence. The passage reminds us that when God acts powerfully in our lives, we naturally share it with others. We don't need a formal announcement or special permission, just a genuine experience that changes how we understand what's possible. Their testimony was simply people telling the truth about what they'd seen, and that honest witnessing became one of the most important pieces of evidence leading up to Jesus's own resurrection a few days later.
