What does John 12:15 mean?
When Jesus entered Jerusalem, Matthew, Mark, and John all recorded that he rode on a donkey rather than a horse, deliberately fulfilling an ancient prophecy about the coming Messiah. This wasn't a sign of weakness or poverty, but a deliberate choice to announce himself as a peaceful, humble king, not a military conqueror. The phrase "daughter of Zion" is a tender way of addressing Jerusalem itself, inviting the city (and by extension, all God's people) to lay down their anxieties and trust that their long-awaited king had finally arrived.
