What does John 11:54 mean?
After raising Lazarus from the dead, Jesus knew the religious authorities were actively plotting to kill him, so he withdrew from public ministry in Jerusalem and the surrounding towns. He took his disciples to a quiet, remote place called Ephraim near the wilderness, where he could be with them away from the danger closing in.
