What does John 11:26 mean?
Jesus is making a promise about eternal life that goes beyond physical death. When he says "will never die," he means that those who trust in him and remain connected to him through faith won't experience spiritual death or separation from God, even when their bodies do die. It's a kind of living that transcends what we normally think of as the end of life. The question "Do you believe this?" isn't just Jesus asking Martha (who he's speaking with) to agree with a doctrine, but inviting her into a personal relationship of trust. He's asking if she truly believes that he has the power to give life that doesn't end, and whether she's willing to stake her hope on him. That same question reaches across the centuries to each of us, especially in moments when we're wrestling with loss or fear about death.
