John 11:22
βEven now I know that, whatever you ask of God, God will give you.ββ
What does John 11:22 mean?
Martha says this to Jesus just before he raises her brother Lazarus from the dead, and her words show a deep, practical faith even in the midst of grief. She's acknowledging that Jesus has a unique closeness to God, a relationship so real that she trusts whatever he requests will be granted. There's something beautiful here about Martha's confidence in Jesus, even though she's heartbroken and may not yet understand exactly what he's about to do. Her statement invites us to consider whether we truly believe that our prayers matter and that God listens, especially when we're walking through loss or disappointment.
