What does John 11:21 mean?

Martha speaks these words at the moment when her brother Lazarus has been dead for four days, and she's greeting Jesus as he arrives at their home. Her words carry both faith and honest disappointment: she believes Jesus has the power to heal, yet she's grieving that he didn't arrive in time to use it. There's no rebuke intended here, just the raw ache of loss mixed with a lingering "if only." What makes this moment so human is that Martha doesn't hide her pain or pretend everything is fine, even while addressing the person she trusts most. Jesus doesn't scold her for this; instead, he moves toward her grief and meets her there, which tells us something important about how he receives our honest questions and disappointments.
