John 10:16

I have other sheep, which are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will hear my voice. They will become one flock with one shepherd.

What does John 10:16 mean?

Jesus is speaking about people beyond the immediate group of disciples listening to him, extending his mission far into the future and across all nations. He's describing a deeply inclusive vision where his message reaches people from different backgrounds and traditions, yet they're all united under his leadership. The image of "one flock with one shepherd" emphasizes both belonging and unity—a community where different people hear and respond to the same voice. For those of us reading this today, it's a reminder that we're part of something much larger than ourselves, part of a family that transcends our particular culture, church, or experience.
