What does John 1:39 mean?
When Jesus invites these first disciples to "come and see," he's not offering a lecture or a sales pitch—he's inviting them into his actual life. They accept and spend the afternoon with him, learning not through words alone but through presence and conversation. There's something deeply human about this: Jesus doesn't hand them a statement of beliefs and send them away. Instead, he lets them sit with him, ask questions, and experience who he is firsthand. That willingness to be known, to let people into his daily reality, became the pattern for how his followers would come to faith—not through arguments, but through genuine encounter.
