What does John 1:11 mean?
This verse captures one of the gospel's deepest sorrows: Jesus came to the Jewish people, his own nation and heritage, yet many rejected him. John is describing how the promised Messiah arrived among the very people who had been waiting and preparing for his coming, only to find that religious and political leaders opposed him, and many ordinary people turned away.
