What does Job 41:22 mean?

This verse describes a terrifying sea creature (Leviathan) that represents a kind of chaos or power beyond human control. Job's friends have been confidently explaining his suffering, but God uses this creature to show Job that some things in creation are wild and can't be neatly reasoned through. The "strength in his neck" and the terror surrounding this creature remind us that not everything in life can be managed or understood by human wisdom alone. For anyone struggling to make sense of hardship, this passage can be oddly comforting: sometimes we're not failing to understand because we're not thinking hard enough, but because we're encountering something genuinely beyond our capacity.
