What does Job 4:10 mean?
Eliphaz is describing how God silences and disarms those who oppose him, using the image of a predator losing its power to harm. A lion's roar and teeth are what make it dangerous, so when those are broken, the threat is gone. He's trying to comfort Job by suggesting that God protects the righteous and renders the wicked powerless, though Job himself is starting to wonder if that's actually true. It's a vivid way of saying that no force opposing God can ultimately succeed.
