“Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice, the sound that goes out of his mouth.”
What does Job 37:2 mean?
Elihu, one of Job's friends, is urging Job to pay attention to God's power and presence, which he's about to describe through the imagery of a storm. The "noise of his voice" and "sound" refer to thunder and the overwhelming natural phenomena that show God's majesty, not words God is literally speaking to Job in this moment. Elihu is essentially saying: stop arguing about your suffering and listen to what creation itself reveals about God's greatness and authority. It's an invitation to shift from complaint to awe, from questioning God's character to recognizing something vast and powerful at work beyond our understanding.
