Job 36:9
“then he shows them their work, and their transgressions, that they have behaved themselves proudly.”
What does Job 36:9 mean?
When we're in hard times, God sometimes uses that difficulty to show us truths about ourselves we'd otherwise miss. Elihu is describing how God reveals to people the ways they've gone wrong, especially the pride that led them there. It's not punishment for punishment's sake, but rather an invitation to see clearly what we've been doing and why. That honest reckoning, painful as it can be, is actually the doorway to change and healing.
