What does Job 34:3 mean?
Just as your taste buds test whether food is good or spoiled, your ear and mind test whether words are true and worth believing. Elihu (who is speaking here) is making the point that we have an inner sense that can judge the quality of what we hear, much like we instinctively know good food from bad. He's encouraging his listeners to use this discernment when they encounter ideas and claims. This is a reminder that you don't have to passively accept everything you hear, but can thoughtfully consider what rings true to you.
