Job 33:13
“Why do you strive against him, because he doesn’t give account of any of his matters?”
What does Job 33:13 mean?
Elihu is pushing back here against Job's complaint that God won't explain himself or answer for what he's doing. The question cuts to something real: we often expect God to justify his actions to us like we're peers in a courtroom, but Elihu is saying that God simply doesn't operate that way. He's not obligated to account for his decisions the way a human authority figure might be. This doesn't mean God is indifferent or unfair, but rather that his perspective and purposes are so much larger than ours that demanding an explanation on our terms might be missing the point entirely.
