Job 30:6
“So that they dwell in frightful valleys, and in holes of the earth and of the rocks.”
What does Job 30:6 mean?
Job is describing the lowest members of society—people so desperate and outcast that they're forced to live in caves and ravines, hidden away from civilized life. He paints this grim picture to emphasize just how far he himself has fallen, since these are precisely the kind of people now mocking and rejecting him. By detailing their wretched existence, he's saying, "I've sunk to the level of the most despised, most abandoned people imaginable," which cuts at the heart of his suffering and humiliation during his trials.
