Job 28:23
““God understands its way, and he knows its place.”
What does Job 28:23 mean?
In this moment, Job is reflecting on wisdom itself, trying to understand where it comes from and why it seems so hidden from human reach. He's acknowledged that we dig for precious metals and gems in the earth, but wisdom can't be found that way, no matter how hard we search. Then he pauses and remembers something crucial: while wisdom eludes us, God has never lost sight of it. God understands exactly where wisdom comes from and how it moves through the world, because it flows from God's own nature. There's real comfort in this for anyone who feels lost or confused about what to do. We don't have to figure everything out ourselves. The One who made us and knows the deepest secrets of existence is paying attention to what we need. We can stop exhausting ourselves searching for answers in all the wrong places and instead turn toward the God who already knows the way forward.
