What does Job 15:32 mean?
Job's friend Eliphaz is describing what happens to someone who turns away from God: their life gets cut short, and whatever they build withers before it can flourish. The image of a branch that never stays green captures the idea of fruitlessness, decline, and a life that doesn't reach its full potential. Eliphaz is trying to convince Job that suffering comes to those who deserve it, which is why he paints this picture of premature decline as a kind of punishment.
