What does Job 15:26 mean?
Eliphaz is describing someone who stubbornly rushes toward God in defiance, holding up their pride like armor. The image is of a person so determined to resist and rebel that they've hardened themselves completely, charging forward with no intention of listening or yielding. He's painting a picture of self-destructive stubbornness, the kind where someone protects themselves behind walls of anger and refuses to soften or admit any need for help. It's a harsh way of saying that when we meet God (or truth, or reality) with our guards up and our hearts closed, we're only bringing suffering on ourselves.
