“Are your days as the days of mortals, or your years as man’s years,”
What does Job 10:5 mean?
Job is asking God a deeply human question: do you experience time the way we do? He's essentially saying, "You're eternal and infinite, so how can you possibly understand the pressure and pain of living in a body that ages, gets tired, and faces death?" This comes from Job's rawness in the midst of suffering, when he feels abandoned and wonders if God truly grasps what it means to be trapped in a mortal existence. It's less about accusing God and more about the loneliness of suffering, when the distance between the eternal and the temporary feels impossibly vast. Many of us have felt this same ache, wondering if anyone, even God, really understands how heavy our particular moment is.
